The time has come for my monthly portfolio update. At the end of every month, I will update my portfolio and comment on any changes. I do that for accountability and also so you may glean some ideas on how I allocate my capital. You have the opportunity to learn from what I do well, so you can do the same, as well as what I do poorly, so you will not have to repeat my mistakes.

Purchases
I kept buying more XOM and GWW near 52-week low. I bought some more FOSL as it dropped, but should have waited a little longer as the stock promptly dropped below $7 after I bought it at $9. I also added to my holdings in CVS and CAH. I initiated new positions in LB and GPC near 52-week lows at what seemed to be good value stocks. GPC has gone up some, but LB has dropped more. The rest are part of my monthly investment plans and dividend reinvestment.

During July, my net worth increased 0.86% to $1,027,417.63, essentially due to net cash inflow (0.85%), while P/L was essentially flat (0.01%). My Roth IRA suffered from an experiment, but I have learned my lesson now so it should basically track the SmallCap Index from now on. Debt increased by over $10k as I took advantage of a credit card balance transfer/access check offer to write a $10,000 check to myself for 2% one-time fee and 0% interest for 12 months. I figured I will just put the money into groundfloor.us loans earning about 7-10% which will net me about 5-8% on this debt.

I continued trailing the index this month, making it four months in a row now, which is somewhat depressing. The bulk of the underperformance this month can be attributed to the awful performance in my Roth IRA account which is hopefully now past. On the upside, I am not that far behind so I should have time to catch up to the index.
