New Monthly Investment Plan with a Commission-Free Broker

I finally found a new commission-free broker, M1 Finance, that offers everything loyal3 did, and more! Like loyal3, it offers automatic monthly investment with a fixed dollar amount to buy fractional shares of stocks. Even better than loyal3, you can buy virtually any publicly traded stock or ETF, and it offers automatic rebalancing.

My Roadmap to $1 Billion Net Worth

One of my lifetime goals is to reach $1B in net worth. While this may seem far-fetched right now, given that I only have slightly over $1M, there is still a long time left and I should be able to reach it through the magic of compound interest.

3 Stocks I Added to My Monthly Investment Plan

Just a few days ago, I expanded my Monthly Investment Plan to include Omnicom (OMC). Today, I found 3 more attractive stocks offering no-fee Direct Stock Purchase Plans (DSPPs) to add to my monthly investment plan for further diversification. Without further ado, my revised plan is as follows:

Adding Omnicom (OMC) to My Monthly Investment Plan

It has been seven months since I last modified my monthly investment plan. Today, I found another investable stock offering a no-fee direct stock purchase plan (DSPP): Omnicom (OMC). Ever since loyal3 closed shop, my monthly investment plan has been pared significantly. With this new addition, my current monthly investment now totals $3000. OMC provides additional diversification to my portfolio by adding a new sector and limits the max allocation to any sector to 20%.

My Experience with SOGO, or When to Sell an IPO

A couple days ago, I got an email invitation from my broker (Interactive Brokers) to subscribe to the SOGO IPO. The expected price range is $11-$13 and the minimum reservation is 100 shares. I skimmed over the prospectus and thought it's outrageously overpriced at 100 times earnings, and growth had already shown signs of slowing down, but there should be a pop for several reasons:

I Have Written My First Book!

I have read hundreds of books related to finance, investing, and money, but have yet to come across a simple guide to achieve a seven-figure net worth and financial freedom.

Some of these books are too dense. Some are impractical or too demanding for everyday people. Worse yet, some are really advertisements in disguise for their authors' lucrative money management services aim to transfer your money to them.

I started with zero net worth back in 2010 when I started working full-time and gradually built it up to a seven-figure net worth seven years later in July 2017. You can track my annual balance sheet here and the latest updates on my net worth here.

Looking back over these seven years, I realized a few things. I was fortunate to have gotten a good education and reasonably well-paid job. A high savings rate is paramount. Prudent investing of these savings is crucial. I could have achieved seven figures sooner if I had known how to accomplish these things earlier.

Hence, I decided to write this book. Herein is a simple roadmap in seven steps that anyone can follow to achieve seven figures and financial freedom. This is the book I wish I had read when I was a teenager.

I finally beat the index this month, after losing for 4 straight months. However, YTD I am still trailing the index by 0.85%. I just need another good month like this to catch up with the index.
